The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy – Knoxville Campus
The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy seeks applicants for six
positions at the level of Assistant or
Associate Professor based at its campus in Knoxville, Tennessee. Review of
applications will begin immediately
and will continue until the positions are filled with a start date in July 2008.

Emergency medicine [ASHP PPS # 1731]
Two non-tenure track faculty positions are paired in order to practice an
equivalent of six months per year in Emergency Medicine at UT Medical Center (http://www.utmedicalcenter.org/),
an academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center. The faculty member will
participate in experiential and didactic education, patient care, scholarly
activity and university service at the College’s campus located at UT Medical
Center and at the emergency department. Qualifications include Pharm.D. degree
with related PGY2 residency or 3 years related experience.
Primary care [ASHP PPS # 1737]
A full-time, non-tenure track faculty position will join three other faculty
members who each practice an equivalent of six months per year in primary care
at a physician-based office practice that is part of the UT Medical Center (www.utmedicalcenter.org),
a comprehensive academic medical center. The faculty member will participate in
experiential and didactic education, patient care, scholarly activity and
university service at the College’s campus located at UT Medical Center and at
the primary care clinics. Qualifications include Pharm.D. degree with related
PGY2 residency or 3 years related experience.
Chattanooga Clinical Education Center Director [ASHP PPS #
1719]
A full-time, non-tenure track faculty position with administrative and academic
responsibilities will serve as the Director of the College’s Clinical Education
Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The position will primarily develop and direct
educational and academic opportunities for faculty and students in the immediate
area. The faculty member will also participate in experiential and didactic
education, clinical practice based on candidate’s interest area, scholarly
activity and university service. Qualifications include Pharm.D. degree, PGY1
residency and/or related experiences.
Critical care [ASHP PPS # 1742]
A full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in critical care based at the
Knoxville campus is cofunded with Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge (http://www.mmcoakridge.com/),
a 300-bed acute care medical center, which is the site for a practice in
critical care and metabolic support. The faculty member will participate in
experiential and didactic education, clinical service, and scholarly activity at
the College’s campus and the practice site. Qualifications include Pharm.D.
degree with related PGY1 residency or related experience.

Health outcomes and pharmacoeconomics [ASHP PPS # 2059]
A full-time, tenure-track faculty position will participate in professional and
graduate student education, scholarly activity and university service at the
Knoxville campus. Candidates with a record of teaching experience, scholarship,
research productivity, and extramural funding in health services research
focused in one or more areas (pharmacoeconomics, health outcomes, medication
errors, medication therapy management, health disparities, patient safety,
health policy, pharmacoepidemiology, health economics) will be given preference.
Qualifications include Ph.D. or Pharm.D. degree with related experience or
education.
