"MY PDA crashed (or battery ran down) and I lost everything when I had to do a hard reset!"  Boo hoo hoo! Maybe you know someone where this has happened or maybe it has happened to you?

Don't panic! Most of your software and data is already saved. Did you know your Palm OS software automatically backs up most of the data/programs in the RAM of your PDA every time you hotsync?

Right click on the hotsync icon in the right hand bottom corner of your windows taskbar. You should see a menu like this. If you do not see the hotsync icon in the windows taskbar, then you need to set your computer-PDA software up as previously demonstrated in the installing programs section. Select "Custom" with a left click from the mouse button.

You should now see this screen. Scroll down until you see "System." Left click on it and then select "change" from the right hand dialogue box.

This dialogue box will not pop up. Be sure to select "Desktop overwrites handheld" and then select "OK." Now hotsync. Your PDA will be restored with the information from the last time you ran the hotsync!
