Students
Student Organizations
There are no traditional social fraternities on the campus. However, two
professional fraternities (Kappa Psi and Phi Delta Chi) provide their members
with social activities as well as professional benefits. The student chapter of
the American Pharmaceutical Association has received national awards for its
participation in community service projects. The student chapter of the National
Pharmaceutical Association represents minority students at the local and
national levels.
Student Life
There are many excellent opportunities
for students to become involved in campus life
outside the classroom. The offices of student affairs and student life are dedicated to
helping students become familiar with the campus and the community through special
programs and events held throughout the year. In addition to more than 25 campus-wide
organizations, the Pharmacy Student Government Association oversees events, programs and
issues important to College of Pharmacy students. Special activities are planned each year
to assist minority students in becoming involved on campus and to provide a network of
support and friendship among minority students. The International and Black Student
Association and the Committee on International and Black Students (a subcommittee of the
Student Government Association Executive Council) oversee many of these activities.
