Victor J. Perini, M.S., D.Ph., CHE, has been an associate at Methodist Healthcare for 12 years.  He is currently the Vice-President of Operations of the Methodist University Hospital, a position he has held since August 2004.  His areas of responsibility include the transplant and neuroscience institutes, perioperative services and the emergency department.

Immediately prior to his present role he served as Hospital Administrator for the UT Bowld Hospital, where he lead the planning for its closure and the transition of transplant services to Methodist University Hospital.  Prior to that he served as Hospital Administrator of the Methodist Extended Care Hospital.  Mr. Perini has also served in various leadership roles in the Methodist University Hospital Pharmacy Department, including Supervisor, Associate Director, and Director of Pharmacy.  He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Colleges of Pharmacy and Health Science Administration.

Mr. Perini received his bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico in 1991 and his master's in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Wisconsin in 1993.  He also completed a specialized residency in hospital pharmacy administration at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in 1993, prior to moving to Memphis.  He is presently pursing and Executive MBA degree through the University of Memphis and will graduate with the class of 2005.

Mr. Perini is a Certified Healthcare Executive through the American College of Healthcare Executives and continues to play an active role with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.  He is the current Chairman of the Board of New Pathways, Inc., a community development dedicated to the revitalization of the section of Memphis between Downtown and Midtown.

He is married to wife Laurel and has two sons, Weston, born in 1999, and Nathan, born in 2003.  He is an avid fitness enthusiast and competed as a professional triathlete from 1996-2000.
