Teresa Meyer Waters, Ph.D. earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Dordt College (Sioux Center, IA) in 1987 and her Ph.D. in economics from Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN) in 1992. Between 1992 and 2000, Dr. Waters served as faculty at Northwestern University (Chicago, IL) and Assistant Director of the Institute for Health Services Research and Policy Studies. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and the Associate Director for Research at the Center for Health Services Research at The University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Her research interests include health care financing, healthcare organizational strategies, and health policy. Dr. Waters’ research has been published in a number of well-known journals, including Journal of the American Medical Association, Medical Care, Archives of Family Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Journal of Applied Economics.
