Dr. Shelley White-Means our Chair of the HOPR Graduate Program was the 2006 Recipient of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Beta Epsilon Omega Chapter, IVY AKADEMY AWARD

    This award recognizes Dr. White-Means tireless contribution to the community of Memphis over the years, and more specifically, recognizes her work with the Mustard Seed Program in the 38106 and 38126 zip codes.  The mustard seed program provides mentoring and other services to youths in these communities.    

 

Way to go Dr. White-Means!!!!!!!!!

 

 

Dr. Lawrence (LB) Brown was named as Chair of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufactures of America's Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Guiding Principles Independent Review Panel.  

    This panel will review reports from the Office of Accountability and evaluate overall DTC trends in the industry.  The panel's observations and recommendations will be published in early 2007, and a copy of the panel' s report will be provided to the FDA.  

 

Dr. LB Brown was appointed as co-chair of the PQA's Workgroup on Reporting for 2006-2007.  The Workgroup on Reporting will recommend principles and methods for reporting meaningful information to consumers, pharmacists, health insurance plans, purchasers and other interested stakeholders.

 

Dr. Junling Wang received the Best Student Paper Award for the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting Medical Care section, 2005.

 

Dr. Songhee Hong our new Assistant Professor for the Health Outcomes and Policy Research Graduate Program started on August 3, 2006.  Please make sure to make him welcome!!!
